COVID-19 TESTING
What Test do we Offer?
We have proudly curated a Taqpath RT-PCR test solution, and the Covid-19 IgG/IgM Antibody Rapid Test by Assure. Each is their own best in class and one of the most accurate tests on the market.
- The antibody test identifies qualitative + differential detection of SARS CoV-2 proteins to determine if you’ve had exposure to COVID-19 and have developed antibodies that potentially protect against the virus. This test is recommended post-vaccine to evaluate efficacy of the shot.
Polymerase Chain Reaction Testing (PCR):
The gold standard for identification of Covid-19 is a PCR test. (typically a nasopharyngeal swab). However, our 100% Specificity and 100% Sensitivity solution does NOT require the nasopharyngeal swab (through the nose to back of the throat but feels like the brain). We can process with a simple nasal swab that only enters less than an inch, a throat swab (like the flu or strep test), or even a saliva sample that you spit into a straw!
Our turnaround on PCR is the following day; on occasion the 2nd day if testing is done before a holiday or on a Saturday.
Antibody
Igm and IgG
IgM antibodies to SARS-COV-2 are generally detectable in the blood several days after initial exposure, although the duration of time these antibodies are present post-infection is not well characterized. A positive IgM indicates the need for diagnostic testing to determine the presence of COVID-19.IgG antibodies to SARS-COV-2 are generally detectable in the blood several days after initial infection, although the duration of time antibodies are present post-infection is not well characterized. At this time it is unknown for how long antibodies persist following infection and if the presence of antibodies confers protective immunity.
- This test is intended for the use as an aid in identifying individuals with an adaptive immune response to SARS-COV-2, indicating recent or prior infection. Results are for the detection of SAR-COV-2 antibodies.
